New Construction

Sanding for new wood is determined by the quality of finish that our customers want.  If a high-end finish is

Sanding

desired we will sand the wood two times, finishing with a fine grit (320) sandpaper to eliminate mill marks

and scratches.  If a lesser finish is desired we will just brake the corners and quick sand with an abrasive pad

so the wood is smooth to the touch.

We will stain the woodwork any color our customers prefer.  We can do stain matching or custom colors.

Staining

At Nelessen's we use penetrating wood stains for ultimate color and clarity.

Our clear coat is called DuraVar Plus by M. L. Campbell.  This is a high solids (42%) finish that is water and

chemical resistant (see manufactures warranty).  This finish is harder than lacquer and more scratch resistant.

We spray on two base coats then sand with fine grit sandpaper (400).  Then, we apply the final coats, in the

sheen of your choice (flat, satin, semi-gloss, gloss).
